DAS installation Sydney

DAS Installation and In-Building Mobile Coverage

Plan stronger indoor mobile coverage for commercial and public buildings with a site-specific approach to survey, design, installation, testing and handover.

Sydney and NSW focus. Australia-wide delivery where project requirements call for it.

The coverage problem

Why buildings lose mobile coverage

Outdoor signal can weaken as it passes through dense structures and into large or enclosed areas.

01

Concrete and steel

Dense structural materials can reduce the mobile signal that reaches internal rooms and corridors.

02

Performance glazing

Modern glazing and facade systems can limit signal penetration from surrounding mobile networks.

03

Underground areas

Basements, car parks and tunnels are physically separated from reliable outdoor mobile coverage.

04

Building scale

Large floorplates, multiple levels and complex layouts can create internal dead zones and inconsistent reception.

Solution design

DAS and in-building coverage solutions

A distributed antenna system places antennas throughout a building or facility to distribute mobile signal into the areas that need it. It should not be confused with Wi-Fi.

Multi-carrier, 4G and 5G requirements

Digital Sydney can plan DAS solutions for one or more mobile carriers across 4G and 5G services. Final scope is confirmed through site requirements, system design, carrier coordination and applicable approval processes.

Passive, active and hybrid DAS options

We design and install passive, active and hybrid DAS architectures to suit building size, cable routes, signal sources, coverage objectives and operational requirements.

DAS

Building-wide coverage planning

Often considered for larger, more complex or multi-carrier environments.

CEL-FI

Focused coverage solution

May suit a smaller site or targeted coverage problem, subject to assessment.

End-to-end delivery

Our DAS delivery process

Each stage turns site information into a defined technical scope, then verifies the installed system against agreed requirements.

01

Site survey and RF assessment

We document existing RF conditions, building constraints, priority coverage areas and available project information to establish the survey findings and design inputs.

02

Design, installation and integration

We develop the agreed system design, coordinate carrier requirements, install the equipment, antennas and cable routes, and integrate the approved solution.

03

Testing, commissioning and handover

We complete PIM and sweep testing, commissioning and verification, then provide the agreed results, handover documents and ongoing maintenance support.

Planning information

DAS and IBC questions

These answers provide a starting point. Final scope depends on the site assessment and approved requirements.

A distributed antenna system uses antennas positioned throughout a building or facility to deliver mobile network coverage where outdoor signals cannot reach reliably. Unlike Wi-Fi, it distributes mobile carrier signals.

A site survey and RF assessment will identify the most suitable solution. DAS is generally considered for larger, complex or multi-carrier environments, while CEL-FI may suit smaller sites or targeted coverage problems.

A multi-carrier DAS can be designed to support multiple Australian mobile networks, subject to the site requirements, system design, carrier coordination and applicable approvals.

We review the existing RF signal, building construction, available plans, required carriers, priority coverage areas and project constraints.

The installed system is commissioned and verified using agreed testing, including PIM and sweep testing where required. Results and agreed handover documents are then provided.
